Scope:

 (i) Free computer trainings and free internet browsing for all in Khagrachhori Hill District, (ii) Helping youth step in the job market.

Aims of the Project:

The Chittagong Hill Tracts is most backward regions in Bangladesh. Most of the inhabitant of Khagrachari Hill District are poor and indigenous. Most of the peoples engaged with agriculture. Here is ICT trainings is very low but the youth need to get ICT trainings and internet browsing effectively for job placement. Its not only for youth also for all. No such ideas library in here. So, we want to: - 1. Youth skill up; 2. Free ICT access for all. 3. Gear up for ICT. Computers, internet modem, books, library construction and alternative income generating activities for library (for long term sustainability) will be used.

Minjiri Estate Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Adaptation (MBCCA) project at Minjiri Estate, Minjiri Hills, Toilafang, Matirang Upazila, Khagrachhori Hill Tracts, Bangladesh.

Scope:

(i) Awareness-raising among the members of Minjiri Estate Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Adaptation community and buffer zone community on the environmental values of the biodiversity and climate adaptation through community meetings, workshops, exposure visits, posters, bill boards, etc., (ii) Facilitating formation of MBCCA and buffer zone management committees by the community members in a democratic manner, (iii) Organizational development and management capacity building training of the committee members, (iv) Facilitation and accompaniment support to the MBCCA and buffer zone committee in fortnightly/ monthly meeting and other activities, (v) Development of MBCCA and buffer zone management guidelines by the committees through community meetings, (vi) Follow-up and monitoring of community members compliance to the MBCCA and Buffer zone management guidelines, (vii) Baseline and end-of-the-project survey of stocking and bio-diversity (flora, fauna) in the MBCCA and buffer zone, (viii) Awareness campaign and information dissemination through community meetings, workshops, exposure visits, posters, bill boards, etc., (ix) Farmers’ training on soil and water conservation measures for sloping lands, (x) Enrichment planting of local species in the degraded parts of the MBCCA and buffer zone, (xi) Community mobilizing and input support for planting of soil-binding and water-conserving plant species (based on indigenous knowledge) on the slopes of water streams (Buffer zone support is low price), (xii) Identification of suitable IGAs based on marketing opportunities and interest, existing skills and social acceptability of the participants, (xiii) Plant nursery and technical support to the members (xiv) Conserving indigenous fish species and wild life within the MBCCA, (xv) Conserving different bamboo, cane and etc. at water streams of MBCCA and buffer zone. (xvi) Facilitation and accompaniment support to the IGA groups in fortnightly/ monthly meetings, (xvii) Participants training on selected IGAs, (xviii) Establishment a breading zone within the MBCCA (based on project grant), (xix) Establishment a informal school at buffer zone for children and older, (xx) Input support on renewable energy, water and sanitation to the members, (xxi)  Information sharing workshop and meetings with the local government bodies, line agencies and community leaders, (xxii) Participation of BIRAM staff (and MBCCA, Buffer zone representatives) in development coordination forums at Upazila and district level, (xxiii) Staff training on facilitation techniques and relevant technical matters (e.g., forest/bio-diversity conservation, watershed management practices, buffer zone management, IGA selection) and (xxiv) Exposure visit of staff to successful projects of similar nature.

Aims of the Project:

(i) Widely introduce of conservation activities to the communities, (ii) Conserving, protecting, restoration, adaptation by acquire / purchase of land, (iii) Conserving and protecting wildlife, birds and other endangered species, (iv) Researching drinking water through (Infilter Gravity Flows (IGF) for the communities and watershed conservation, (v) Establish a eco museum and eco tourism and (vi) Now 200 acres area but willingness to upgrade for 1,000/2,000 acres area.
